A place like no other

Here, the land, sea, and people are inter-connected; Gina waadlux̱an gud ad kwaagid: everything depends on everything else. That is why Gwaii Haanas is protected from the mountaintops to the ocean floor.

For the past 30 years, this special place has been cooperatively managed by the Council of the Haida Nation and the Government of Canada.

When visiting, it is important to carry this ideal with you in every step you take and every wave you crest.

Plan your visit to be informed, then come prepared and willing to learn. Gwaii Haanas looks forward to your respectful visit!
